The city of Omaha, which began as a spec of a settlement along the Great Missouri River, evolved over the years into a Midwestern colossus. Today, Omaha is a logistics epicenter, servicing far flung global businesses as well as local folks. As the city made the leap from being a wild outpost to a modern metropolis, it supported diverse industries, including railroading and meat packing.

Modern Omaha is at once an information technology hub and an agricultural powerhouse. It’s home to the headquarters of many “monster-sized” businesses, such as ConAgra Foods and Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Corporation. Yet the region is also a bastion of music and the arts. The Joslyn Art Museum and Omaha Black Music Hall of Fame both attract legions of visitors every year. Alexander Payne, an A-list Hollywood director/screenwriter, hails from Omaha, and he has made numerous films that take place in the city, including his first breakaway blockbuster, Election (starring Mathew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon).

Omaha has also birthed its own musical sub-genre, known colloquially as the Omaha Sound. One of the brightest lights in recent Indie music, Elliot Smith, wrote his most moving ballads in the city, and musicians as diverse as Pigeon John, Bright Eyes, and Iron Butterfly have forged their unique musical identities here as well.

Whether you’re moving to town to work at Mutual of Omaha or you’re just passing through, you can rely on this site to provide excellent and timely information about what’s going on in the city. The site sources accurate links to Omaha’s lawyers, doctors, and city services as well as resources for event planning, tourism and sightseeing. Bookmark this site to experience this increasingly cosmopolitan city to the hilt.

Oakland is a thriving California port city with what’s been dubbed as the best weather in North America by the ultimate travel authority, Rand McNally. It’s also one of the most cosmopolitan places in America – Oaklanders speak more than 150 different languages. From the Chabot Space and Science Center to the Oakland Zoo to fantastic hillside vistas of the San Francisco Bay Area, Oakland boasts many cultural and artistic attractions. Thanks to the city’s diversity, you can find a festival, parade, or street affair practically every weekend. Two of the more popular events include the Cinco de Mayo Parade (on May 5th, of course!) and the Montclair Jazz and Wine Festival in early fall. The city’s fiercely proud of its athletic teams – in particular, the Oakland A’s baseball club and the Oakland Raiders NFL franchise, which both play at the recently refurbished McAfee Coliseum. Although Oakland developed a reputation for being a rough-and-tumble town in the 1990s, a full borne effort to gentrify the urban landscape has borne much fruit, and new residents have recently been pouring into places like West Oakland.

If you’re a permanent Oakland resident or a recent newcomer searching for critical city services, like dentists, doctors, or lawyers, this site is for you. Search here for up-to-date info and an array of exciting relevant links. Whether you want to find the latest hottest restaurants to open in the city or info on an upcoming Raiders game, browse around now to get better acquainted with what Oakland has to offer.

New York City is far and away the biggest urban center in the United States. Founded by the Dutch in the late 1620s, the area served as a major trading post and actually became the capital of the United States in the 1780s, in the wake of America’s emancipation from Great Britain.

New York City is filled with iconic American architectural artifacts. The Statue of Liberty, located on Ellis Island, has beckoned immigrants from the world over since the 19th century. The city is home to more than 8 million residents, all of whom live in an area just barely more than 300 square miles in dimension. New York’s five boroughs — Staten Island, Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens — each boasts a unique personality. But the city as a whole functions as a unified, throbbing “City That Never Sleeps.” From the epic Empire State Building to the grand Yankee Stadium, New York offers more than any single visitor (or even resident) could hope to experience.

If you are thinking of taking a bite out of the Big Apple, you can use this website as a superior resource to tap into New York City’s many services, artistic treasures, and events. If you need to find a lawyer in Queens, a baker in Brooklyn, or a beautician in the Bronx, this site is open 24 hours a day — just like the New York subway system (or at least parts of it!) — to show you efficiently to your destination. Make your stay in New York easier by getting resources you can really use about what’s going on in the city.

Newark, New Jersey is located just a few miles southwest of New York City. But despite its proximity to the Big Apple, Newark’s entirely its own entity, both culturally and economically. The world-renowned Newark Museum holds an astounding collection and includes not just one-of-a-kind works of art (and many superior Tibetan pieces) but also a zoo, a planetarium, and lots of fun activities for children. Newark is also a serious sports town. Watch the New Jersey Devils NHL Hockey Club at the Prudential Center. Or hop across state lines to take in some Yankees or Rangers action.

Newark is a bastion of African-American high culture. The Museum of African-American Music celebrates the great sounds of the Black tradition, including hip hop, gospel, and jazz. Thanks to innovative political leadership, Newark has undergone a significant gentrification in the past decade. Traveling around downtown, you can see examples of amazing art deco architecture, such as the National Newark Building. Once you get your fill of art deco, head to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, an enormous gothic church that’s been celebrated in countless postcards and coffee-table books.

The city of Newark offers great opportunities for visitors and permanent residents alike. However, finding essential city services, cultural events, great restaurant recommendations and the like can be difficult without some kind of central organizing guide. This website is designed for you to get the most out of your Newark, New Jersey experience. Find hotels, local government information, lawyers, and recommendations about what to see and do here in Newark at this site.
